The northern edge of Buckhead, known as Brookhaven, emerged as Atlanta’s first country club neighborhood. The scenic landscape is a mix of old and new, from charming bungalows and new craftsman style homes to stately mansions overlooking the golf course. Brookhaven is an unincorporated community with large and established neighborhoods, including Ashford Park, Drew Valley, Brookhaven Fields, Brookhaven Heights, Hillsdale and Lynwood Park.
Brookhaven is one of the more affluent communities in metro Atlanta, and the exquisite homes are complimented by easy access to some of the best shopping centers in the country, most notably Lenox Square Mall and Phipps Plaza. Mixed-use developments, like Town Brookhaven, offer numerous amenities, including luxury apartments, large anchor stores such as Costco & Publix, restaurants, boutiques, a movie theatre, LA Fitness, and much more. Village Place on Dresden Drive offers an urban, upscale community that includes condos, restaurants, and boutique shopping.
Some of Atlanta’s top public schools are in Brookhaven, including Sarah Smith Elementary, Sutton Middle School and North Atlanta High School, Ashford Park Elementary, Chamblee Middle, and Chamblee High.
Elite private schools include Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Elementary School, St. Martin in the Fields Episcopal School and the Marist School. Oglethorpe University is also located in Brookhaven.
The Capital City Country Club, one of the area’s most historic country clubs, is a fixture of the Brookhaven community. It is part of the The Capital City Club, which also includes the City Club in downtown Atlanta and the Crabapple Golf Club in Cherokee and Fulton Counties.
Brookhaven Marta Station is conveniently located in the center of Brookhaven. Area parks include Ashford Park, Blackburn Park and Murphy Candler Park.
