The northern edge of Buckhead, known as Brookhaven, emerged as Atlanta’s first country club neighborhood. Village Place on Dresden Drive offers an urban, upscale community that includes condos, restaurants, and boutique shopping.
Some of Atlanta’s top public schools are in Brookhaven, including Sarah Smith Elementary, Montgomery Elementary, Ashford Park Elementary, Sutton Middle School, and Chamblee Middle, Kittridge Charter North Atlanta High School and Chamblee High.
Elite private schools include Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Elementary School, St. Martin in the Fields Episcopal School and the Marist School. Oglethorpe University is also located in Brookhaven.
Brookhaven Marta Station is conveniently located in the center of Brookhaven. Area parks include Ashford Park, Blackburn Park and Murphy Candler Park.
